Abstract
The present invention relates to a multi-component urethane adhesive system comprising a prepolymer component and a curative component. The adhesive system is suitable as a primer-less, high temperature-resistant adhesive composition.
Claims37
A multi-component urethane adhesive system comprising:
- (A) a prepolymer component made from:
- (i) one or more polyol intermediate(s), and
- (ii) one or more isocyanate(s);
- and
- (B) a curative component comprising:
- (i) one or more polyol(s), and
- (ii) one or more catalyst(s),
- wherein the adhesive system further comprises an organo-clay and a halogenated polyether polyol.

Use of a halogenated polyether polyol or an organo-clay as an adhesion promoter in a multi-component urethane adhesive system comprising:
- (A) a prepolymer component made from:
- (i) one or more polyol intermediate(s), and
- (ii) one or more isocyanate(s);
- and
- (B) a curative component comprising:
- (i) one or more polyol(s), and
- (ii) one or more catalyst(s),
- wherein each of the halogenated polyether polyol and the organo-clay is independently present in the prepolymer component or the curative component.
