Abstract
A system for wireless video transmission includes a video compression unit to generate a description of DCT taps, a linear mapper to generate transmission payload from the DCT taps, and a wireless transmitter to map the transmission payload into constellation points, wherein the real part and the imaginary part of each of the constellation points is a monotonic function of some of the DCT taps.

A system for wireless video transmission comprising:
- a video compression unit to generate a description of Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT) taps;
- a linear mapper to generate transmission payload from said DCT taps;
- and
- a wireless transmitter to map said transmission payload into constellation points, wherein the real part and the imaginary part of each of said constellation points is a monotonic function of some of said DCT taps.

A system for wireless video reception comprising:
- a wireless receiver to demodulate a received signal into constellation points, wherein the real part and the imaginary part of each of said constellation points is a monotonic function of Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT) taps associated with said received signal;
- a linear demapper to encode said received signal into said DCT taps;
- and
- a video decompression unit to convert said DCT taps into video data.
