Systems and Methods for Flexible Redistribution of Lodging Reservations

A method performed by a lodging reservation redistribution server including at least one processor, the method comprising:

• receiving, from a lodging provider computing device and over a communications network, a notification indicating that an original lodger has placed a reservation at a lodging facility;
• sending, over the communications network, an offer to a lodger computing device inviting the original lodger to participate in a reservation reseller program selected from the group of:
• a locked-in sell price reseller program;
• and
• a make-offer reseller program;
• receiving an acceptance communication from the lodger computing device over the network, the acceptance communication indicating acceptance of the offer to participate in the reservation reseller program;
• creating, by the processor, a listing available for distribution over the network to a plurality of computing devices, the listing offering the reservation for resale according to terms of the reservation reseller program accepted by the original lodger;
• storing the created listing on a storage medium accessible to the lodging reservation redistribution server;
• receiving a request to access one or more listings for reservations from a new lodger computing device;
• and
• causing the processor to access the listing from the storage medium and to cause the lodging reservation redistribution server to transmit the listing over the network to the new lodger computing device.

A method performed by a lodging reservation redistribution server including at least one processor, the method comprising:

• receiving, from a lodger computing device operated by an original lodger and over a communications network, a request to place a reservation at a lodging facility;
• generating and sending a lodging reservation confirmation communication to the lodger computing device over the communications network with information about the reservation and an offer to participate in a reservation reseller program selected from the group of:
• a locked-in sell price reseller program;
• and
• a make-offer reseller program;
• receiving an acceptance communication from the lodger computing device over the network, the acceptance communication indicating acceptance of the offer to participate in the reservation reseller program;
• creating, by the processor, a listing available for distribution over the network to a plurality of computing devices, the listing offering the reservation for resale according to terms of the reservation reseller program accepted by the original lodger;
• storing the created listing on a storage medium accessible to the lodging reservation redistribution server;
• receiving a request to access one or more listings for reservations from a new lodger computing device;
• and
• causing the processor to access the listing from the storage medium and to cause the lodging reservation redistribution server to transmit the listing over the network to the new lodger computing device.
