Information processing apparatus, control method thereof, and storage medium

An information processing apparatus comprising:

• a human sensor;
• an interface configured to set setting for the human sensor;
• and
• a controller configured to shift the information processing apparatus from a first power state to a second power state of which power consumption is larger than power consumption of the first power state if there is a human in at least a first area in a case where a first setting is inputted as the setting for the human sensor, and shift the information processing apparatus from the first power state to the second power state if there is a human in a second area which is farther from the information processing apparatus than the first area and a moving amount of the human in the second area toward the information processing apparatus is greater than a predetermined value in a case where a second setting is inputted as the setting for the human sensor.

A method for shifting a power state of an information processing apparatus from a first power state to a second power state of which power consumption is larger than power consumption of the first power state, the method comprising:

• inputting a setting for a human sensor;
• shifting the information processing apparatus from a first power state to a second power state of which power consumption is larger than power consumption of the first power state if there is a human in at least a first area in a case where a first setting is inputted as the setting for the human sensor;
• and
• shifting the information processing apparatus from the first power state to the second power state if there is a human in a second area which is farther from the information processing apparatus than the first area and a moving amount of the human in the second area toward the information processing apparatus is greater than a predetermined value in a case where a second setting is inputted as the setting for the human sensor.
