A construct, comprising;
- a plasma transformed substrate material;
- colorant set in the plasma transformed substrate material, providing a color change to the underlying substrate material;
- and
- wherein the colorant and the plasma transformed substrate material are chemically, permanently bonded together such that the affixing of the colorant to the substrate provides a wash durable coating on the substrate without the affixed colorant negatively affecting the bulk properties of the substrate.
