Systems, methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for supporting or providing wireless backhauling are provided.

A method, comprising:
- transmitting, by a network node, to a serving node a scheduling request or other corresponding message based on buffer status and a predicted amount of data to be received by the network node.
An apparatus comprising:
- at least one processor;
- and
- at least one memory comprising computer program code,
- the at least one memory and computer program code configured, with the at least one processor, to cause the apparatus at least to:
- transmit, by the apparatus, to a serving node a scheduling request or other corresponding message based on buffer status and a predicted amount of data to be received by the apparatus.
