Abstract
A communication apparatus acquires information about a communication-parameter setting process from a different communication apparatus and determines whether the acquired information includes identification information for identifying the different communication apparatus. If it is determined that the identification information is included, an authentication request is transmitted by unicast based on the identification information. If it is determined that the identification information is not included, the authentication request is transmitted by broadcast.
Claims9
A communication apparatus comprising:
- one or more processors;
- and
- one or more memories including instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the apparatus to:
- acquire, from a captured image, information about a communication-parameter setting process;
- determine whether the acquired information comprises channel information about a channel used in wireless communication;
- select, based on a result of the determination, performing transmission of a signal for an authentication process performed in the communication-parameter setting process via the channel or via all available channels,
- wherein the communication apparatus selects performing the transmission of the signal via all available channels in a case where it is determined that the acquired information does not comprise the channel information, and selects performing the transmission of the signal via the channel in a case where it is determined that the acquired information comprises the channel information ;
- and
- transmit the signal via all available channels in a case where the communication apparatus selects to performing the transmission of the signal via all available channels, and transmit the signal via the channel based on the channel information in a case where the communication apparatus selects to performing the transmission of the signal via the channel.

- transmitting the signal via all available channels in a case where the communication apparatus selects performing the transmission of the signal via all available channels, and performing the transmission of the signal via the channel based on the identification information in a case where the communication apparatus selects performing the transmission of the signal via the channel.
