Bluetooth mesh network provisioning authentication

A method, comprising:

• determining a first set of device authentication parameters for a to-be-authenticated Bluetooth device in a Bluetooth mesh network based at least in part on device identification information associated with the to-be-authenticated Bluetooth device;
• generating first authentication information based at least in part on the first set of device authentication parameters and a first random number;
• forwarding the first authentication information and the first random number to the to-be-authenticated Bluetooth device so that the to-be-authenticated Bluetooth device can perform an authentication operation;
• receiving second authentication information and a second random number associated with the to-be-authenticated Bluetooth device, wherein the second authentication information is generated based at least in part on a second set of device authentication parameters and the second random number, wherein the second set of device authentication parameters matches the first set of device authentication parameters;
• and
• authenticating the to-be-authenticated Bluetooth device based at least in part on the second authentication information and the second random number.

A computer program product, the computer program product being embodied in a non-transitory computer readable storage medium and comprising computer instructions for:

• determining a first set of device authentication parameters for a to-be-authenticated Bluetooth device in a Bluetooth mesh network based at least in part on device identification information associated with the to-be-authenticated Bluetooth device;
• generating first authentication information based at least in part on the first set of device authentication parameters and a first random number;
• forwarding the first authentication information and the first random number to the to-be-authenticated Bluetooth device so that the to-be-authenticated Bluetooth device can perform an authentication operation;
• receiving second authentication information and a second random number associated with the to-be-authenticated Bluetooth device, wherein the second authentication information is generated based at least in part on a second set of device authentication parameters and the second random number, wherein the second set of device authentication parameters matches the first set of device authentication parameters;
• and
• authenticating the to-be-authenticated Bluetooth device based at least in part on the second authentication information and the second random number.

A system, comprising:

• a processor of a gateway node in a Bluetooth mesh network;
• and
• a memory coupled with the processor, wherein the memory is configured to provide the processor with instructions which when executed cause the processor to:
• detect device identification information associated with a to-be-authenticated Bluetooth device requesting access to the Bluetooth mesh network;
• report the device identification information to a server node in the Bluetooth mesh network;
• receive first authentication information and a first random number sent by the server node;
• forward the first authentication information and the first random number to the to-be-authenticated Bluetooth device so that the to-be-authenticated Bluetooth device can authenticate the server node;
• receive second authentication information and a second random number sent by the to-be-authenticated Bluetooth device;
• and
• forward the second authentication information and the second random number to the server node so that the server node can authenticate the to-be-authenticated Bluetooth device.

A system, comprising:

• a processor of a to-be-authenticated Bluetooth device in a Bluetooth mesh network;
• and
• a memory coupled with the processor, wherein the memory is configured to provide the processor with instructions which when executed cause the processor to:
• broadcast device identification information so that a gateway node in the Bluetooth mesh network can forward the device identification information to a server node in the Bluetooth mesh network;
• receive first authentication information and a first random number;
• authenticate the server node based at least in part on the first authentication information and the first random number;
• generate second authentication information based at least in part on built-in device authentication parameters and a second random number;
• and
• forward the second authentication information and the second random number to the server node so that the server node can authenticate the to-be-authenticated Bluetooth device.
