An image capturing apparatus having a viewfinder, the apparatus comprising:
- a plurality of operating members to which functions are allowed to be assigned;
- a detecting unit configured to detect when an eye of a user is close to the viewfinder;
- and
- a control unit configured to, in a case where an operating member operated while the detecting unit detects that the eye is close is an operating member which is disposed in a prescribed location and a specific function is assigned to the operating member, forgo executing the function assigned to the operating member, and in other cases, execute the function assigned to the operating member.
A method of controlling an image capturing apparatus,
- wherein the image capturing apparatus includes a viewfinder, a plurality of operating members allowing functions to be assigned, and a detecting unit configured to detect when an eye of a user is close to the viewfinder,
- the method comprising:
- in a case where an operating member operated while the detecting unit detects that the eye is close is an operating member which is disposed in a prescribed location and a specific function is assigned to the operating member, forgoing executing the function assigned to the operating member, and in other cases, executing the function assigned to the operating member.
A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing a program to be executed by a computer in an image capturing apparatus which comprises a viewfinder, a plurality of operating members to which functions are allowed to be assigned, and a detecting unit configured to detect when an of a user is close to the viewfinder,
- the program causing the computer to:
- in a case where an operating member operated while the detecting unit detects that the eye is close is an operating member which is disposed in a prescribed location and a specific function is assigned to the operating member, forgo executing the function assigned to the operating member, and in other cases, execute the function assigned to the operating member.
