Image processing apparatus and image processing method

An image processing apparatus comprising:

• a controller configured to transfer image data having a plurality of color components;
• a first processing module configured to receive the image data transferred from the controller, and execute image processing;
• and
• a second processing module configured to receive the image data transferred from the controller via the first processing module, and execute image processing on the image data,
• wherein processed data obtained by the first processing module by performing the image processing on the received image data is transferred to the controller,
• processed data obtained by the second processing module by performing the image processing on the image data received via the first processing module is transferred to the controller via the first processing module, and
• the number of color components as targets of the image processing to be executed by the first processing module is smaller than the number of color components as targets of the image processing to be executed by the second processing module.

An image processing method to be executed in an image processing apparatus comprising:

• a controller configured to transfer image data having a plurality of color components;
• a first processing module configured to receive the image data transferred from the controller, and execute image processing;
• and
• a second processing module configured to receive the image data transferred from the controller via the first processing module, and execute image processing on the image data,
• wherein the controller determines color components, of the plurality of color components of the image data, to be processed by the first processing module and the second processing module, based on at least communication amounts produced between the first processing module and the second processing module,
• processed data having undergone the image processing performed by the first processing module based on the determined color components is transferred to the controller, and
• processed data having undergone the image processing performed by the second processing module based on the determined color components is transferred to the controller via the first processing module.

An image processing method to be executed in an image processing apparatus comprising:

• a controller configured to transfer image data having a plurality of color components;
• a first processing module configured to receive the image data transferred from the controller, and execute image processing;
• and
• a second processing module configured to receive the image data transferred from the controller via the first processing module, and execute image processing on the image data,
• wherein processed data obtained by the first processing module by performing the image processing on the received image data is transferred to the controller,
• processed data obtained by the second processing module by performing the image processing on the image data received via the first processing module is transferred to the controller via the first processing module, and
• the number of color components as targets of the image processing to be executed by the first processing module is smaller than the number of color components as targets of the image processing to be executed by the second processing module.
