Abstract

A communication method and system for converging a 5th-generation (5G) communication system for supporting higher data rates beyond a 4th-generation (4G) system with a technology for Internet of things (IoT) are provided. The disclosure may be applied to intelligent services based on the 5G communication technology and the IoT-related technology, such as smart home, smart building, smart city, smart car, connected car, health care, digital education, smart retail, security and safety services. Disclosed are a method and an apparatus for configuring, transmitting, and receiving a reference signal in a wireless communication system.

Dependent claims

A method of receiving a reference signal of a terminal in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:

receiving a first reference signal for time and frequency tracking from a base station;
changing a bandwidth or a beam;
determining whether a condition of a second reference signal for tracking in a changed bandwidth or beam is satisfied;
and
receiving a second reference signal from the base station, in case that the condition of the second reference signal is satisfied.

transmitting a first reference signal for time and frequency tracking to a terminal;
performing changing a bandwidth or a beam with respect to the terminal;
