Abstract
Systems and methods for transvaginal high intensity concentrated ultrasound. Urinary incontinence is treated through application of high intensity ultrasound to tissue structures to affect a change in the tissue.
Claims22
A system for treating stress urinary incontinence comprising:
- an applicator having:
- at least one transducer array;
- an acoustic coupling balloon;
- and
- a positioning balloon.
2 more elements
A method of treating urinary incontinence comprising;
- identifying an anatomic structure to be treated;
- mapping the treatment focal depth and focal zone;
- and
- applying acoustic energy to raise the temperature of at least a portion of the anatomic structure to about 50° C. to 80° C. for a short time period sufficient to affect remodeling of the collagenous structure of the portion of the anatomic structure.
1 more element
A computer-implemented system for treatment of stress urinary incontinence, comprising:
- a processor;
- and
- a tangible computer-readable medium operatively connected to the processor and including computer code configured to:
- identify an anatomic structure to be treated;
- map the treatment focal depth and focal zone;
- and
- apply acoustic energy to raise the temperature of at least a portion of the anatomic structure to 50° C. to 80° C. for a short time period sufficient to affect remodeling of the collagenous structure of the portion of the anatomic structure.
