Radiation Shielding Devices, Systems, and Methods

A method of shielding radiation, comprising:

• supporting a shielding device on a patient proximate a radiation source, the shielding device comprising a first shielding portion and a second shielding portion;
• positioning the first shielding portion in a vertical position relative to the patient such that the first shielding portion in the vertical position is supported by the patient, wherein the first portion has a first side facing towards the radiation source, a second side facing away from the radiation source, and a top edge positioned above the second portion;
• positioning a second shielding portion to extend away from the first portion, the second shielding portion attached to the first portion;
• and
• shielding radiation from the radiation source by the first shielding portion and the second shielding portion such that the first and second shielding portions provide a radiation shielding zone for a healthcare practitioner.
