Abstract
The present invention relates to systems and methods suitable for verifying and compensating nodes for streaming multimedia. In particular, the present invention relates to systems and methods that utilize a blockchain to verify and compensate devices for computational resources contributions when streaming multimedia over a decentralized network.
Claims20
A method for receiving compensation for participating in real-time streaming over a decentralized network, the method comprising:
- calculating, by a node, an amount of the bandwidth delivered by the node for a stream;
- receiving, by the node, a signed message including bandwidth metrics from each of the neighboring nodes, the signed message provided in response to requests for the signed message;
- transmitting, by the node, the calculated amount of the bandwidth and the signed messages to a broadcaster of the stream;
- and
- receiving, by the node, compensation from the broadcaster for the bandwidth delivered by the node for the stream.
A method for verifying proof of bandwidth for a node participating in real-time streaming over a decentralized network, the method comprising:
- receiving, by a broadcaster, a calculated bandwidth delivered by the node and a message signed by neighboring nodes, the message including bandwidth metrics for the node;
- comparing, by the broadcaster, the calculated bandwidth and the bandwidth metrics;
- and
- transmitting, by the broadcaster, compensation to the node for the calculated bandwidth once the comparison is determined to be valid.
