Audio enhanced hearing protection system

An audio enhanced hearing protection system to be worn by a user comprising:

• an ambient noise reduction assembly comprising a primary noise reduction unit and a secondary noise reduction unit,
• an audio input assembly comprising a plurality of environmental microphones to receive environmental audio signals,
• a digital signal processing assembly, and
• an audio output assembly comprising at least one speaker to transmit processed audio signals.

An audio enhanced hearing protection system to be worn by a user comprising:

• an ambient noise reduction assembly comprising a pair of primary noise reduction units connected to one another by a support member to facilitate being worn by the user,
• a pair of secondary noise reduction units each adjustably interconnected to a different one of said pair of primary noise reduction units,
• an audio input assembly comprising a plurality of environmental microphones to receive environmental audio signals, each of said plurality of environmental microphones mounted to a different one of said pair of primary noise reduction units,
• a digital signal processing assembly comprises a digital processer to transform said environmental audio signals into processed audio signals, wherein said digital processer limits extremely loud environmental sounds to safe levels for the user without loss or artifacting of the environmental sounds themselves, and
• an audio output assembly comprising a plurality of speakers to transmit said processed audio signals to the user.
