Adaptive components providing vendor-specific and context-specific information to customers

A computing system comprising:

• a universal backend device configured for:
• updating an adaptive component to selectively receive information from a back-end service and present the information based on contexts of shopping experiences on particular devices, respectively, wherein a context comprises at least one of a device being a particular location or indicating a particular stage of interest in a product or service, wherein the adaptive component comprises configured parameters specifying different sets of sales information for different contexts,
• deploying a first instance of the adaptive component to a first device, and
• deploying a second instance of the adaptive component to a second device;
• the first device configured for executing the first instance of the adaptive component and thereby performing first operations for providing a first set of context-specific sales information on the first device, the first operations comprising:
• identifying a first context,
• identifying the first set of context-specific sales information to retrieve based on the first context and the configured parameters of the adaptive component,
• retrieving the first set of context-specific sales information from the back-end service, and
• providing the first set of context-specific sales information for presentation on the first device;
• and
• the second device configured for executing the second instance of the adaptive component and thereby performing second operations for providing a second set of context-specific sales information on the second device, the second operation comprising:
• identifying a second context,
• identifying the second set of context-specific sales information to retrieve based on the second context and the configured parameters of the adaptive component,
• retrieving the second set of context-specific sales information from the back-end service, and
• providing the second set of context-specific sales information for presentation on the second device, wherein the first set of context-specific sales information and the second set of context-specific sales information are different.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium comprising program code that is executable by a universal backend device having one or more processing devices, wherein the program code, when executed by the universal backend device, causes the universal backend device to perform operations comprising:

• configuring executable code of an adaptive component to selectively receive information from a back-end service and present the information based on contexts of shopping experiences on particular devices, respectively, wherein a context comprises at least one of a device being a particular location or indicating a particular stage of interest in a product or service, wherein the adaptive component comprises configured parameters specifying different sets of sales information for different contexts;
• providing a first set of context-specific sales information on a first device via the adaptive component, wherein providing the first set of context-specific sales information via the adaptive component comprises the adaptive component:
• identifying a first context,
• identifying the first set of context-specific sales information to retrieve based on the first context and the configured parameters of the adaptive component,
• retrieving the first set of context-specific sales information from the back-end service, and
• providing the first set of context-specific sales information for presentation on the first device;
• and
• providing a second set of context-specific sales information on a second device via the adaptive component, wherein the first set of context-specific sales information and the second set of context-specific sales information are different, wherein providing the second set of context-specific sales information via the adaptive component comprises the adaptive component:
• identifying a second context,
• identifying the second set of context-specific sales information to retrieve based on the second context and the configured parameters of the adaptive component,
• retrieving the second set of context-specific sales information from the back-end service, and
• providing the second set of context-specific sales information for presentation on the second device.
