Abstract
An image heating apparatus includes an image heating member, an air blowing portion, a duct, a shutter, a detecting portion, a plurality of projections, and a controller. The recessed portions includes a smallest recessed portion having a width smallest among widths of the recessed portions with respect to a movement direction of the projections. The controller stops the drive of the shutter at a time when the smallest recessed portion passes a detecting position of the detecting portion during closing of the shutter.
Claims17
An image heating apparatus comprising:
- an image heating member configured to heat an image on a recording material;
- an air blowing portion;
- a duct configured to guide air from said air blowing portion toward an end portion of said image heating member with respect to a longitudinal direction of said image heating member;
- a shutter configured to open and close an opening of said duct while sliding on said duct through the opening of said duct;
- a detecting portion configured to detect a position of said shutter with respect to a sliding direction and to detect that said shutter is closed;
- a plurality of projections movable together with said shutter and configured to be detected by said detecting portion so as to set a width of the opening, said projections including a smallest projection having a width smallest among widths of said projections with respect to a movement direction of said projections;
- and
- a controller configured to control drive of said shutter on the basis of a signal detecting said projections by said detecting portion,
- wherein said controller stops the drive of said shutter at a time when said smallest projection passes a detecting position of said detecting portion during closing of said shutter.
An image heating apparatus comprising:
- an image heating member configured to heat an image on a recording material;
- an air blowing portion;
- a duct configured to guide air from said air blowing portion toward an end portion of said image heating member with respect to a longitudinal direction of said image heating member;
- a shutter configured to open and close an opening of said duct while sliding on said duct through the opening of said duct;
- a detecting portion configured to detect a position of said shutter with respect to a sliding direction and to detect that said shutter is closed;
- a plurality of recessed portions movable together with said shutter and configured to be detected by said detecting portion so as to set a width of the opening, said recessed portions including a smallest recessed portion having a width smallest among widths of said recessed portions with respect to a movement direction of said projections;
- and
- a controller configured to control drive of said shutter on the basis of a signal detecting said recessed portions by said detecting portion,
- wherein said controller stops the drive of said shutter at a time when said smallest recessed portion passes a detecting position of said detecting portion during closing of said shutter.
An image heating apparatus comprising:
- an image heating member configured to heat an image on a recording material;
- an air blowing portion;
- a duct provided with first and second openings at positions opposing end portions of said image heating member with respect to a longitudinal direction of said image heating member and configured to guide air from said air blowing portion;
- first and second shutters configured to open and close the first and second openings, respectively, of said duct while sliding on said duct through the first and second openings, respectively of said duct;
- a driving mechanism configured to transmit a driving force to said first shutter and said second shutter so that said first shutter and said second shutter move in integration with each other;
- a detecting portion configured to detect a position of said first shutter with respect to a sliding direction and to detect that said first shutter is closed;
- a plurality of projections movable together with said first shutter and configured to be detected by said detecting portion so as to set a width of the first opening;
- and
- a controller configured to control an operation of said driving mechanism on the basis of a signal detecting said portions-to-be-detected by said detecting portion.
