Fmcw radar with interference signal rejection

A method comprising:

• receiving a plurality of chirp echoes from transmitted radar signals;
• generating a digital signal based on the plurality of chirp echoes,
• wherein each chirp echo, of the plurality of chirp echoes, has an associated subsequence of the digital signal;
• and
• performing a filtering in the time domain for one or more subsequences using singular spectrum analysis.

A radar apparatus comprising:

• a radar receiver configured to:
• receive a plurality of chirp echoes from transmitted radar signals, and
• generate a digital signal based on the plurality of chirp echoes,
• wherein each chirp echo, of the plurality of chirp echoes, has an associated subsequence of the digital signal;
• and
• a computing unit configured to perform a filtering for one or more subsequences in the time domain,
• wherein the computing unit, when performing the filtering for a subsequence of the one or more subsequences, is configured to perform:
• a decomposition of the subsequence into a plurality of components;
• a selection of a subset of components from the plurality of components;
• and
• a reconstruction of a modified subsequence based on the subset of components.
