Abstract
A flexible and oblong blade seal for sealing a gap between a door leaf and an adjacent surface includes a flexible outer material and B) a section with the sealing function (the sealing section), in which a barrier of a plurality of substantially parallel metal wires and/or narrow metal strips is embedded in the flexible outer material in such a way, that the wires and/or strips are arranged in parallel to the longitudinal direction of the seal. A method for mounting such seals and a method for producing them.

1-17. (canceled)
A flexible and oblong blade seal for sealing one or more of the following elongated gaps A) elongated gaps between a building part (e.g. an edge of a door leaf) and an adjacent surface (e.g. the surface of another building part) B) elongated gaps between a wall and an adjacent surface or C) elongated gaps between a fence and an adjacent surface, said blade seal comprising a flexible outer material and
- a first section (the sealing section) with a barrier embedded in at least a part of the flexible outer material, said barrier comprising a plurality of elongated metal members arranged at a distance to each other substantially in parallel to the longitudinal direction of the oblong blade seal, and
- a second section (the mounting section) by means of which the blade seal can be mounted e.g. on a door leaf.
A flexible and oblong door seal for sealing elongated gaps between an up-and-over door comprising a flexible outer material and
- a first section (the sealing section) with a barrier embedded in at least a part of the flexible outer material, said barrier comprising a plurality of elongated metal members arranged at a distance to each other substantially in parallel to the longitudinal direction of the oblong blade seal, and
- a second section (the mounting section) by means of which the blade seal can be mounted e.g. on a door leaf.
A method of securing a door in a building against pests such as rats and mice, said method comprising the step of mounting on said door an oblong flexible seal, said seal comprising a flexible outer material and
- a first section (the sealing section) with a barrier embedded in at least a part of the flexible outer material, said barrier comprising a plurality of elongated metal members arranged at a distance to each other substantially in parallel to the longitudinal direction of the oblong blade seal, and
- a second section (the mounting section) by means of which the blade seal can be mounted e.g. on a door leaf.
