Abstract
A vehicle wheel having a central axis. The wheel comprises a bead seat configured to engage a bead of a tire, the bead seat extending circumferentially about the central axis of the wheel. The bead seat comprises a first sidewall, a second sidewall, and a base extending between the first and second sidewalls. The first and second sidewalls extend radially outwardly from the base, and the base includes a radially outwardly-facing surface extending circumferentially about the central axis, and one or more barbs projecting from the radially outwardly-facing surface in a radially outwardly direction.
Claims20
A vehicle wheel having a central axis, comprising:
- a bead seat configured to engage a bead of a tire, the bead seat extending circumferentially about the central axis, and including:
- a first sidewall;
- a second sidewall;
- and
- a base extending between the first and second sidewalls,
- wherein the first and second sidewalls extend radially outwardly from the base, and
- further wherein the base includes a radially outwardly-facing surface extending circumferentially about the central axis, and one or more barbs projecting from the radially outwardly-facing surface in a radially outwardly direction.
A vehicle wheel having a central axis, comprising:
- a bead seat configured to engage a bead of a tire, the bead seat extending circumferentially about the central axis, and including:
- a first sidewall;
- a second sidewall;
- and
- a base extending between the first and second sidewalls,
- wherein the first and second sidewalls extend radially outwardly from the base, and
- further wherein the base includes a radially outwardly-facing surface extending circumferentially about the central axis, and a plurality of barbs each projecting from the radially outwardly-facing surface in a radially outwardly direction.
A vehicle wheel having a central axis, comprising a bead seat configured to engage a bead of a tire, the bead seat extending circumferentially about the central axis, and including a radially outwardly-facing surface extending circumferentially about the central axis, and one or more barbs projecting from the radially outwardly-facing surface in a radially outwardly direction.
