A cannula device comprising:

• a first structure having a convex gimbaled surface;
• a suture ring having a body portion and a ring portion, the body portion having a concave gimbaled surface coupled with the convex gimbaled surface of the first structure, wherein the suture ring may pivot in at least two planes relative to the first structure.

A cannula device comprising:

• a first structure;
• a suture ring having a body portion, a ring portion and an locking mechanism, wherein the suture ring may coupled with the first structure and be selectively locked at a plurality of positions relative to the first structure.

A cannula device comprising:

• a first structure;
• a suture ring coupled with the first structure, the first structure having an opening formed therein that is eccentrically located relative to a perimeter defined by the suture ring.
