Abstract
The present invention describes a mucoadhesive composition comprising chondroitin sulfate, xyloglucan and glycerol for use in the treatment and prevention of gastroesophageal reflux. It is also described a process for preparing such composition, a dosage form for its administration and a kit comprising the same.

Method of treating or preventing gastroesophageal refluxing in subject in need thereof, said method comprising:
- administering to said subjects a mucoadhesive composition comprising chondroitin sulphate at a concentration from 0.5 to 5% (w/v), xyloglucan at a concentration from 0.05 to 5% (w/v), glycerol at a concentration from 10 to 70% (w/v), referred to the volume of the final composition, and optionally pharmaceutically acceptable excipients.
A kit comprising a composition comprising chondroitin sulphate at a concentration from 0.5 to 5% (w/v), xyloglucan at a concentration from 0.05 to 5% (w/v), glycerol at a concentration from 10 to 70% (w/v), referred to the volume of the final composition, and optionally pharmaceutically acceptable excipients, in form of unit dosage sachets or vials for unitary or multiple dosages, suitable for oral administration.
