Abstract
An apparatus (1) for harvesting crops, the apparatus (1) comprises a carriage (2), sensing means (3), a ground motion sensor (6) and a harvesting device (4), where the sensing means (3) is configured or configurable to determine the location of a first crop, the ground motion sensor (6) is operated or operable to determine the motion of the carriage (2) relative to the ground, the location data and the motion data being utilized to cause the harvesting device (4) to move to and harvest the first crop.
Claims21
A method for harvesting crops in a single pass over said crops using a carriage provided with a harvesting device, the method comprising:
- a) determining location data relating to a first crop;
- b) capturing motion data of the carriage relative to the ground using a ground motion sensor;
- and
- c) utilizing the location data and the motion data thereby causing the harvesting device to move to and harvest the first crop.

An apparatus for harvesting crops, the apparatus comprising a carriage, a sensor, a ground motion sensor and a harvesting device, where the sensor is configured or configurable to determine the location of a first crop, the ground motion sensor is operated or operable to determine the motion of the carriage relative to the ground, the location data and the motion data being utilized to cause the harvesting device to move to and harvest the first crop.
