A method comprising:
- receiving, from a user device, an authentication request according to a first security protocol;
- transmitting, to the user device, based on a determined authenticity of the authentication request according to the first security protocol, a device identifier and information related to a shared key;
- receiving, from the user device, a request to access content secured according to a second security protocol, wherein the request comprises the device identifier, and
- wherein the request is encrypted using a shared key derived from the information related to the shared key;
- decrypting the request using the shared key;
- and
- authenticating, based on the device identifier, the request.
