Abstract

The present invention relates to a beam-based multi-connection communication method, a terminal device, and a network device. In the beam-based multi-connection communication method, after a terminal device establishes an RRC connection to a terminal, a base station or the terminal device may trigger a random access process to establish at least one beam connection, or when the terminal device is idle, establishment of at least one beam connection may be completed as a random access process is performed, to reduce system overheads for performing beam communication restoration by the terminal device after communication on a single beam is interrupted, and avoid a data transmission interruption between the base station and the terminal device, thereby ensuring normal communication between the base station and the terminal device.

Dependent claims

A beam-based multi-connection communication method, comprising:

communicating, by a terminal device, with a network device using a first beam;
and
establishing, by the terminal device, a communication connection to the network device using a second beam.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium having instructions stored therein, which when executed by a processor, cause the processor to perform a beam-based multi-connection communication method, the method comprising:

communicating, by a terminal device, with a network device using a first beam;
and
establishing, by the terminal device, a communication connection to the network device using a second beam.

A terminal device, comprising:

a processing unit, configured to
communicate with a network device using a first beam, and
establish a communication connection to the network device using a second beam.
