Method and device for processing packet by terminal in wireless communication system

A method by a terminal for processing a packet in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:

• receiving, from a base station, a packet and configuration information for packet processing;
• determining a count value (COUNT) for processing the packet based on the configuration information;
• and
• processing the packet based on the determined count value,
• wherein a length of the count value is the same as a length of a packet data convergence protocol sequence number (PDCP SN) of the terminal.

A terminal in a wireless communication system, comprising:

• a transceiver configured to transmit and receive a signal;
• and
• a controller configured to control the transceiver to receive, from a base station, configuration information for packet processing, to determine a count value (COUNT) for processing a packet to be transmitted to the base station based on the configuration information, and to process the packet based on the determined count value,
• wherein a length of the count value is the same as a length of a packet data convergence protocol sequence number (PDCP SN) of the terminal.

A terminal in a wireless communication system, comprising:

• a transceiver configured to transmit and receive a signal;
• and
• a controller configured to:
• control the transceiver to receive, from a base station, a packet and configuration information for packet processing,
• determine a count value (COUNT) for processing the packet based on the configuration information, and
• process the packet based on the determined count value,
• wherein a length of the count value is the same as a length of a packet data convergence protocol sequence number (PDCP SN) of the terminal.
