Abstract
Systems and methods for implementing mobile payments. In an aspect of in-store purchase, a merchant sends a payment amount and merchant account info to transaction center. A buyer sends a code and buyer account info to transaction center. The code represents the merchant. In an aspect of online purchase, an e-commerce merchant provides options for a buyer to use names other than a first name plus a surname. In one embodiment, a buyer submits a shortened name or nickname for online purchases when a given payment service is used as a payment method.
Claims20
A method performed by a merchant for facilitating online shopping or online purchasing via a computing apparatus, a software system, and communication networks, comprising:
- 1) sending data to a user's electronic device for an online purchase via the communication networks, wherein the electronic device presents contents in an interface using the data;
- 2) the contents including a plurality of input areas as options configured in the interface for the user to enter a name including a first name and a surname or enter a shortened name for the purchase;
- 3) receiving the name or the shortened name via the communication networks after the user enters one of them in the interface;
- and
- 4) sending the name or the shortened name, a purchase amount, and other information to a payment service facility after the user selects the payment service facility as a payment method for the purchase.
A method performed by a merchant for facilitating online shopping or online purchasing via a computing apparatus, a software system, and communication networks, comprising:
- 1) sending data to a user's electronic device for an online purchase via the communication networks, wherein the electronic device generates an interface using the data;
- 2) the interface providing a plurality of options for the user to enter a name including a first name and a surname or enter a shortened name for the purchase;
- 3) receiving the name or the shortened name via the communication networks after the user submits the name or the shortened name using the interface;
- and
- 4) sending the name or the shortened name and other information related to the purchase to a payment service facility to start a payment process after the user selects the payment service facility as a payment method.
A method performed by a merchant for facilitating online shopping or online purchasing via a computing apparatus, a software system, and communication networks, comprising:
- 1) sending contents of a webpage to a user's electronic device via the communication networks after the user logs on a corresponding website, wherein the electronic device displays the webpage in an interface, the contents comprises a shortened name of the user, the shortened name submitted to the merchant by the user;
- 2) the webpage presenting the shortened name and providing a plurality of options, the plurality of options including changing the shortened name or replacing the shortened name by a name which comprises a first name and a surname of the user;
- 3) calculating a purchase amount using the software system after receiving information that the user selects one or more products;
- and
- 4) sending the purchase amount and other relevant information to a payment service facility after obtaining information that the user chooses the payment service facility as a payment method.
