Abstract
Methods, systems, and storage media are described for configuring measurement gaps for new radio (NR). Other embodiments may be described and/or claimed.
Claims22
An apparatus comprising:
- memory to store an indication of a per-user equipment (per-UE) measurement gap pattern for measuring measurement objects;
- and
- processing circuitry, coupled with the memory, to:
- determine that a user equipment (UE) supports measurement gap patterns for different frequency ranges;
- generate a signal that includes the indication of the measurement gap pattern;
- and
- transmit or cause to transmit the signal to the UE.

An apparatus comprising:
- memory to store an indication of a per-user equipment (per-UE) measurement gap pattern received from a signal;
- and
- processing circuitry, coupled with the memory, to:
- perform a measurement of a measurement object in a first frequency range (FR1) using the measurement gap pattern;
- and
- perform a measurement of a measurement object in a second frequency range (FR2) using the measurement gap pattern.
3 more elements
One or more non-transitory, computer-readable media storing instructions, that, when executed by one or more processors, cause a next-generation nodeB (gNB) to:
- determine that a user equipment (UE) supports measurement gap patterns for a first frequency range (FR1) and a second frequency range (FR2);
- generate a message that includes:
- an indication of a first per-frequency range (per-FR) measurement gap pattern for FR1;
- and
- an indication of a second per-FR measurement gap pattern for FR2;
- and
- transmit or cause to transmit the message to the UE.
4 more elements
One or more non-transitory, computer-readable media having instructions that, when executed, cause a user equipment (UE) to:
- receive a message that includes an indication of a first per-frequency range (per-FR) measurement gap pattern for a first frequency range (FR1) and an indication of a second per-FR measurement gap pattern for a second frequency range (FR2);
- perform a measurement for a measurement object in FR1 using the first per-FR measurement gap pattern;
- and
- perform a measurement for a measurement object in FR2 using the second per-FR measurement gap pattern.
