System and methods for automatic call initiation based on biometric data

A method comprising:

• storing a first biometric data set corresponding to a first user identity, the first user identity associated with a first conferencing endpoint;
• storing a second biometric data set corresponding to a second user identity, the second user identity associated with a second conferencing endpoint;
• capturing a third biometric data set at the first conferencing endpoint;
• performing a comparison between the third biometric data set and the first biometric data set;
• receiving a request at the first conferencing endpoint to place a call directed to the second user identity;
• and
• calling the second conferencing endpoint using the first conferencing endpoint based, at least in part, on the comparison between the third biometric data set and the first biometric data set.

One or more non-transitory computer readable media storing instructions executable by one or more processors, the instructions comprising instructions to:

• store a first biometric data set corresponding to a first user identity, the first user identity associated with a first conferencing endpoint;
• store a second biometric data set corresponding to a second user identity, the second user identity associated with a second conferencing endpoint;
• capture a third biometric data set using the first conferencing endpoint;
• perform a comparison between the third biometric data set and the first biometric data set;
• receive a request at the first conferencing endpoint to place a call directed to the second user identity;
• and
• call the second conferencing endpoint using the first conferencing endpoint based, at least in part, on the comparison between the third biometric data set and the first biometric data set.

A teleconferencing system comprising one or more processing units, wherein the one of more processing units are configured to:

• store a first biometric data set corresponding to a first user identity, the first user identity associated with a first conferencing endpoint;
• store a second biometric data set corresponding to a second user identity, the second user identity associated with a second conferencing endpoint;
• prompt capture of a third biometric data set at the first conferencing endpoint;
• perform a comparison between the third biometric data set and the first biometric data set;
• receive a request from the first conferencing endpoint to place a call directed to the second user identity;
• and
• enable the first conferencing endpoint to call the second conferencing endpoint based, at least in part, on the comparison between the third biometric data set and the first biometric data set.
