A system for monitoring electrical properties with lower power data acquisition.

A system for monitoring an electrical device comprising:
- a sensor configured to receive data from the electrical device
- a processor configured to:
- compare the received data to an expected value, the expected value including an error band that accounts for expected variation in the data;
- determine to send the received data in response to determining that the received data is outside the error band based on the comparing;
- and
- send the received data.
