Abstract
A technique is provided for allocating resources based on a communications mode. The technique may include receiving, by a user device from a base station in a wireless network, information indicating a communications mode to be used to receive a data retransmission, and receiving, by the user device based on the communications mode, a data retransmission that includes control information and retransmitted data, wherein a portion of resources allocated for the control information is based on the communications mode.

A method comprising:
- receiving, by a user device from a base station in a wireless network, information indicating a communications mode to be used to receive a data retransmission;
- and
- receiving, by the user device based on the communications mode, a data retransmission that includes control information and retransmitted data, wherein a portion of resources allocated for the control information is based on the communications mode.

An apparatus comprising at least one processor and at least one memory including computer instructions, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the apparatus to:
- receive, by a user device from a base station in a wireless network, information indicating a communications mode to be used to receive a data retransmission;
- and
- receive, by the user device based on the communications mode, a data retransmission that includes control information and retransmitted data, wherein a portion of resources allocated for the control information is based on the communications mode.
A method comprising:
- transmitting, by a base station in a wireless network, information indicating a communications mode to be used to transmit a data retransmission;
- and
- transmitting, by the base station based on the communications mode, a data retransmission that includes control information and retransmitted data, wherein a portion of resources allocated for the control information is based on the communications mode.
