Abstract
A method of generating event identifiers includes receiving sensor information from tracked entities. Based on the sensor information for tracked entities, an event can be determined. An event ID can be assigned to the event based on the type of event that was determined. The event ID can be sent to a haptically enabled device, the device outputting a haptic effect determined from the event ID.
Claims20
A method of generating haptic feedback using an event identifier (ID), comprising:
- receiving sensor information from a sensor output signal generated by a sensor on an object, the sensor information including a sensor ID;
- assigning an event ID by classifying the sensor information;
- and
- transmitting the event ID to a haptically-enabled device, a haptic effect being rendered on the haptically-enabled device based on the event ID.
A non-transitory computer-readable medium on which is encoded instructions that, when executed by one or more processors, configure the one or more processors to perform operations comprising:
- receiving sensor information from a sensor output signal generated by a sensor on an object, the sensor information including a sensor ID;
- assigning an event identifier (ID) by classifying the sensor information;
- and
- transmitting the event ID to a haptically-enabled device, a haptic effect being rendered on the haptically-enabled device based on the event ID.
A haptically-enabled system, comprising:
- a processor;
- a haptic output device coupled to the processor, the haptic output device being configured to produce haptic feedback;
- and
- a storage device coupled to the processor and storing instructions, the processor, when executing the instructions,
- receiving sensor information from a sensor output signal generated by a sensor on an object, the sensor information including a sensor ID;
- assigning an event identifier (ID) by classifying the sensor information;
- and
- transmitting the event ID to the haptic output device, a haptic effect being rendered on the haptic output device based on the event ID.
