Abstract
Exemplary embodiments of dispensers are disclosed herein. An exemplary dispenser for dispensing soap, sanitizer or lotion includes a housing, an actuator, a processor, a battery power supply and a sensor for detecting a user. The sensor for detecting a user operates in first duty cycle or a second duty cycle. Operating in the second duty cycle consumes less power than operating in the first duty cycle. The sensor operates in the first duty cycle if a user is detected and the sensor operates in the second duty cycle if the sensor does not detect a user and a selected period of time has elapsed.

- a housing;
- an actuator;
- a processor;
- a first sensor;
- a second sensor;
- wherein the second sensor has a first duty cycle and a second duty cycle;
- wherein the second duty cycle consumes less power than the first duty cycle;
- wherein the second sensor is configured to detect a user;
- wherein upon detection of a user by the second sensor, the actuator is actuated;
- and
- wherein, activation of the first sensor causes the second sensor to switch from the second duty cycle to the first duty cycle.
A dispenser for dispensing soap, sanitizer or lotion comprising:
- a housing;
- an actuator;
- a processor;
- a first sensor for detecting a user;
- wherein the first sensor operates in first duty cycle and a second duty cycle;
- wherein operating in the second duty cycle consumes less power than operating in the first duty cycle;
- wherein the first sensor operates in the first duty cycle if a user is detected;
- wherein the first sensor operates in the second duty cycle if the first sensor does not detect a user and if a condition is met.
A dispenser for dispensing soap, sanitizer or lotion comprising:
- a housing;
- an actuator;
- a processor;
- a battery power supply;
- a sensor for detecting a user;
- wherein the sensor operates in first duty cycle and a second duty cycle;
- wherein operating in the second duty cycle consumes less power than operating in the first duty cycle;
- wherein the sensor operates in the first duty cycle if a user is detected;
