Multiple redundancy position sensor device

A multiple redundancy position sensor device for detecting a position of a shifter lever in a shifter device, the sensor device comprising:

• a first magnetic sensor;
• a second magnetic sensor with at least one of the first magnetic sensor and the second magnetic sensor being a dual die magnetic sensor, wherein the first magnetic sensor and the second magnetic sensor define a first geometric axis;
• and
• a polarized magnet arranged between the first magnetic sensor and the second magnetic sensor such that the polarized magnet is rotated with at least one degree of freedom, wherein a signal based on an angular position of the polarized magnet relative to the first magnetic sensor and the second magnetic sensor corresponding to a shifter lever position is output to control a vehicle transmission.

A multiple redundancy position sensor device comprising:

• a first magnetic sensor;
• a second magnetic sensor being a dual die magnetic sensor, with the first magnetic sensor and the second magnetic sensor define a first geometric axis;
• and
• a polarized magnet arranged between the first magnetic sensor and the second magnetic sensor to rotate the polarized magnet with at least one degree of freedom, wherein a signal based on an angular position of the polarized magnet relative to the first magnetic sensor and the second magnetic sensor corresponding to a shifter lever position is output to control a vehicle transmission.
