Abstract
A method and apparatus are disclosed which enable the analysis of a break in a vehicle glazing panel without the attendance of a technician, the method and apparatus utilize capturing an image of the break and processing the image of the break to enable the suitability for repair or replacement of the glazing panel to be determined.
Claims31
A break analysis method for analyzing breaks in a vehicle glazing panel, the method comprising:
- capturing an image of a break in a vehicle glazing panel;
- and
- processing the image of the break.
An apparatus for analyzing breaks in a vehicle glazing panel, the apparatus comprising:
- a camera arranged to capture an image of a break in a vehicle glazing panel;
- and
- a processing module operative to process the image of the break.
A computer implemented method for determining technical information regarding a break present in a vehicle glazing panel, wherein the method includes:
- executing, by a processor of a mobile computing device, a software component stored in a non-transitory computer readable storage medium of the mobile computing device to process image information captured by a camera of the mobile computing device to determine whether the break in the vehicle glazing panel is repairable or whether replacement of the glazing panel is preferred.
