Systems and methods for electronic targeting or hit/touch detection

A system for electronic targeting, comprising:

• an app running on a handheld device, the app providing a user interface, the handheld device having a first radio capability;
• a plurality of targets having electronic hit detection sensors and LED lighting for hit ready and hit status indications, the targets having a second radio capability to couple data/message indicating hit and other status information to other targets;
• a gateway, wherein the gateway has the second first radio capability to communicate with one or more of the plurality of targets, wherein the gateway has the first radio capability and communicates via the first radio capability with the app running on the handheld device and transmits hit and/or hit status information to the app running on the handheld device.
