Abstract
The present disclosure relates to an inhalant delivery apparatus to a control system and method for controlling delivery of vapor from the apparatus to a user. The apparatus comprises a vaporization device or box which has an inlet with a seat for receiving an end portion of a separate mouthpiece or combined mouthpiece and wick designed for releasable attachment to the box outlet. The control system controls dispensing of a dose via the vaporizer device and mouthpiece by controlling the timing and amount of medication in the delivered dose, and requires specific input from the user before a dose is dispensed.
Claims9
An electronic vaporizer apparatus, comprising:
- An electronic vaporization unit adapted to be hand held and having an outer housing with an outlet port, a seat communicating with the outlet port having a first fastener formation, a vaporization control signal processor, and an input/output communication device connected to the vaporization control signal processor and configured for communication with a remote server via a local user device;
- a mouthpiece device separate from the vaporization unit and having a mouthpiece at a first end for engagement by a user's mouth when inhaling a vapor and an engagement portion at a second end having a second fastener formation configured for releasable mating engagement with the first fastener formation in the seat to secure the mouthpiece device to the vaporization unit;
- and
- a wick for containing or receiving a liquid or mixture of liquids to be vaporized, the wick being mounted in the seat in the outer housing of the vaporization unit or in the mouthpiece device for communicating a vapor to the mouthpiece when activated, whereby the wick is located in the seat at least when the mouthpiece device is in releasable mating engagement with the seat;
- whereby the vaporization control signal processor is configured to control activation of the vaporizer apparatus to deliver a dose of vaporized medication to the mouthpiece on receipt of a control signal from the remote server when the mouthpiece device is in mating engagement with the seat in the vaporization unit.
A method of supplying a dose of vaporized medication to a user, comprising:
- securing a mouthpiece device to a mateable seat or outlet port of an electronic vaporization unit;
- linking a signal input and output communication port of the electronic vaporization unit to local processor unit;
- logging in to a drug dispensing controller at a remote server and answering a series of predetermined security questions;
- wherein the drug dispensing controller is programmed to monitor a wait time period from a previous dose and to send a control signal to the electronic vaporization unit to actuate the unit to supply a predetermined dose of vaporized medication to the user only when a predetermined wait time period from the previous dose has expired, and the user has linked the electronic vaporization unit to a local processor unit, logged into the drug dispensing unit, and answered the predetermined security questions.
