Abstract
The present invention provides a subcutaneous injection formulation for reducing body weight. The subcutaneous injection formulation for reducing body weight comprises drug-containing micelles made of a polyoxyethylene castor oil derivative or polyoxyethylene castor oil derivatives, and a curcuminoid or curcuminoids encapsulated in the drug-containing micelles. The subcutaneous injection formulation for reducing body weight can reduce body weight and visceral fat on overweight or obese subjects, and has the advantages of low dosage, high stability, high fat tissue bioavailability, few side effects, and sustained release.
Claims31
A method of reducing the body weight of an overweight or obese subject, comprising administering a subcutaneous injection formulation to the overweight or obese subject, wherein, the subcutaneous injection formulation comprising:
- a curcuminoid or curcuminoids;
- a pharmaceutically acceptable polyoxyethylene castor oil derivative, wherein, a hydrophilic-lipophilic balance value (HLB value) of the pharmaceutically acceptable polyoxyethylene castor oil derivative is greater than 10;
- and
- a pharmaceutically acceptable aqueous solution;
- the pharmaceutically acceptable polyoxyethylene castor oil derivative and the curcuminoid or curcuminoids together form a plurality of curcuminoid-containing micelles;
- the curcuminoid-containing micelles are evenly distributed in the pharmaceutically acceptable aqueous solution;
- wherein, a total concentration of the curcuminoid or curcuminoids in the curcuminoid-containing micelles is 0.2 to 167 mg/g.
A method of reducing body weight of an overweight or obese subject, comprising administering a subcutaneous injection formulation to the overweight or obese subject, wherein, the subcutaneous injection formulation comprises:
- a curcuminoid or curcuminoids;
- resveratrol;
- a pharmaceutically acceptable polyoxyethylene castor oil derivative;
- a hydrophilic-lipophilic balance value (HLB value) of the pharmaceutically acceptable polyoxyethylene castor oil derivative is greater than 10;
- and
- a pharmaceutically acceptable surfactant;
- the pharmaceutically acceptable polyoxyethylene castor oil derivative and the curcuminoid or curcuminoids together form a plurality of curcuminoid-containing micelles;
- and the pharmaceutically acceptable surfactant and the resveratrol together form a plurality of resveratrol-containing micelles;
- wherein, a total concentration of the curcuminoid or curcuminoids encapsulated in the curcuminoid-containing micelles is 0.2 to 167 mg/g.
A sum of the total concentration of the curcuminoid or curcuminoids encapsulated in the curcuminoid-containing micelles and a total concentration of the resveratrol encapsulated in the resveratrol-containing micelles is 0.4 to 900 mg/g.
A ratio of a total weight of the curcuminoid or curcuminoids encapsulated in the curcuminoid-containing micelles to a total weight of the resveratrol encapsulated in the resveratrol-containing micelles is 50:1 to 1:30.
The ratio of the total weight of the curcuminoid or curcuminoids encapsulated in the curcuminoid-containing micelles to the total weight of the resveratrol encapsulated in the resveratrol-containing micelles is 20:1 to 1:20.
