Abstract
The present invention relates to GRCS bacteriophages, as well as to methods and compositions for the treatment of prosthetic joint infection. Particularly, the present invention provides bacteriophages specific against Staphylococcus aureus from prosthetic joint infections.
Claims31
A method for treating prosthetic joint infection involving Staphylococcus aureus, comprising administering to the infected area and/or surface of the prosthetic a GRCS bacteriophage or a Podoviridae bacteriophage having a minor tail protein encoded by GRCS bacteriophage gene 18505614, or a functional derivative thereof.
