Middle point zero reference

A system configured to generate an enhanced electrocardiogram (EKG) of a cardiac structure, the system comprising:

• a catheter configured for insertion into a chamber of the cardiac structure, the catheter comprising:
• a plurality of electrodes configured to measure an analog electrical signal of electrical activity of the cardiac structure over time;
• a transformer configured to remove a direct current (DC) offset of the analog electrical signal to generate an analog electrical signal centered at 0 volts (V);
• the catheter configured to provide the analog electrical signal centered at 0 V to a console system, the console system comprising:
• an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) configured to sample the analog electrical signal centered at 0 V and adjust a gain of the analog electrical signal centered at 0 V to a maximum resolution of the ADC to produce a digital electrocardiogram (EKG) signal;
• and
• a processor configured to process the digital EKG signal for output to a user.
