Abstract
Provided is a display apparatus that includes an optical modulator having a plurality of pixels and configured to modulate light from a light source and a projection optical system configured to project an optical image formed by light modulated by the optical modulator. If the optical image is to be projected onto printed matter, the sharpness of the optical image is reduced more than in a case where the optical image is not to be projected onto printed matter, and a grid pattern of the optical modulator is made indiscernible.
Claims15
A display apparatus comprising:
- an optical modulator having a plurality of pixels and modulates light from a light source;
- a projection optical system that projects an optical image formed by light modulated by the optical modulator;
- and
- a controller,
- wherein, in a case where the optical image is to be projected onto printed matter, the controller reduces sharpness of the optical image more than in a case where the optical image is not to be projected onto printed matter.
A method for controlling a display apparatus including an optical modulator that has a plurality of pixels and modulates light from a light source and a projection optical system configured to project an optical image formed by light modulated by the optical modulator, the method comprising:
- reducing, if the optical image is to be projected onto printed matter, sharpness of the optical image more than in a case where the optical image is not to be projected onto printed matter.
A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing a program executable by a computer of a display apparatus that comprises
- an optical modulator having a plurality of pixels and modulates light from a light source;
- and
- a projection optical system that projects an optical image formed by light modulated by the optical modulator, wherein the program, when executed by the computer, causes the computer to function as:
- a controller, which, in a case where the optical image is to be projected onto printed matter, reduces sharpness of the optical image more than in a case where the optical image is not to be projected onto printed matter.
