Abstract
An abnormality determination means performs detection of abnormality of one of the pairs of detection means at a normal speed, and performs detection of abnormality of the other of the pairs at a speed not higher than the normal speed, and, when a sign of abnormality of the detection means is detected at the normal speed, a CPU performs switching to the other normal pair and continues control, and the abnormality determination means performs detection of abnormality of the other normal pair at the normal speed, and meanwhile, continues to perform detection of abnormality of the abnormal pair at a speed not higher than the normal speed.

An electronic control device comprising:
- at least two pairs of detectors;
- and
- a controller which controls a target by using information about these detectors and which includes an abnormality determinator to perform determination as to abnormality of the detector, the controller to continue control with a normal one of the pairs at a time of an abnormality, wherein
- the controller executes control on one of the pairs of detectors,
- the abnormality determinator performs, for the execution, detection of abnormality at a normal speed and performs detection of abnormality of the other of the pairs at a speed not higher than the normal speed, and,
- in a case where a sign of abnormality of the detector at the normal speed is detected, the controller performs switching to the other normal pair and continues the control, and
- the abnormality determinator performs detection of abnormality of the other normal pair at the normal speed, and meanwhile, continues to perform detection of abnormality of the abnormal pair at a speed not higher than the normal speed.
An operation control method for an electronic control device including at least two pairs of detector including a sensor, and a controller which controls a target by using information about these detectors and which includes an abnormality determinator to perform determination as to abnormality of the detector, the controller to continue control with a normal one of the pairs at a time of an abnormality,
- the abnormality determinator being included in a CPU, the operation control method comprising:
- performing abnormality detection on detector A of a selected one of the two pairs of detectors at a normal speed corresponding to a control amount computation cycle of the controller;
- confirming that the detector A is abnormal, if an abnormality count of the detector A is equal to or more than a predetermined count;
- performing abnormality detection on detector B of the other of the pairs at a speed not higher than the normal speed;
- confirming that the detector B is abnormal, if an abnormality count of the detector B is equal to or more than the predetermined count;
- and
- switching the detector to be used for the control from the detector A to the detector B if abnormality of the detector A being used for the control is detected or confirmed and if abnormality of the detector B of the other pair is neither detected nor confirmed, on the basis of determination results of the abnormality detection and the abnormality confirmation.
