Abstract
A method and system for operating a user equipment (UE) wherein a first set of radio access procedures are supported when the UE is in a first operating state, and a second set of radio access procedures are supported when the UE is in a second operating state.
Claims20
A method comprising:
- tracking, by the network node, whether an activity timer associated with a user equipment (UE) expires or not;
- and
- instructing, by the network node, the UE to transition its state from a first state to a second state upon an expiry of the activity timer.
An apparatus comprising a processor coupled with a memory, the processor configured to:
- track whether an activity timer associated with a user equipment (UE) expires or not;
- and
- instruct the UE to transition its state from a first state to a second state upon an expiry of the activity timer.
A method comprising:
- receiving, by a user equipment (UE) that is in a first state, an instruction indicating a state transition of the UE, the instruction being associated with an expiry of an activity timer, the activity timer being associated with the UE;
- and
- transitioning, by the UE that is in the first state, a state of the UE to a second state.
An apparatus comprising a processor coupled with a memory, the processor configured to:
- when the apparatus is in a first state, receive an instruction indicating a state transition of the apparatus, the instruction being associated with an expiry of an activity timer, the activity timer being associated with the apparatus;
- and transition a state of the apparatus to a second state.
