Intelligent expansion of system information collection

A non-transitory machine-readable medium having stored thereon machine-readable instructions executable to cause a machine to perform operations comprising:

• inputting, into a testing framework, a path corresponding to a binary;
• accessing, by the testing framework, a testing configuration corresponding to the binary, the testing configuration specifying one or more characteristics of the binary for which data collection is enabled;
• parsing the binary to collect the specified one or more characteristics, the collected specified one or more characteristics including dynamic library data and symbol table data corresponding to the binary;
• identifying, based on the collected specified one or more characteristics, additional characteristics of the binary;
• and
• collecting information corresponding to the identified additional characteristics of the binary.

A computing system comprising:

• a non-transitory memory storing a testing framework;
• one or more hardware processors coupled to the non-transitory memory and that execute instructions to cause the system to perform operations comprising:
• inputting, into the testing framework, a path corresponding to a binary;
• accessing, by the testing framework, a testing configuration corresponding to the binary, the testing configuration specifying one or more characteristics of the binary for which data collection is enabled;
• parsing the binary to collect the specified one or more characteristics, the collected specified one or more characteristics including dynamic library data and symbol table data corresponding to the binary;
• identifying, based on the collected specified one or more characteristics, additional characteristics of the binary;
• and
• collecting information corresponding to the identified additional characteristics of the binary.
