Amino Modified Hydrocarbons

A chemical composition comprising a compound selected from the group consisting of:

• (a) compounds having the formula (i):
• wherein for formula (i):
• l and m are each independently from 1 to 6,
• j is from 1 to 2,
• i is from 1 to 2,
• p is from 0 to 1,
• q is from 0 to 6,
• R2, R3, R4, and R5 are each independently selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and hydrocarbon,
• k≤q(j−1)+p+(i−1), and
• Ak− is a suitable charge balancing anion or anions such that the total charge, k, of the charge-balancing anion or anions is equal to and opposite from the net charge on the compound;
• (b) compounds having the formula (ii):
• wherein for formula (ii):
• l and m are each independently from 1 to 6,
• j is from 1 to 2,
• p is from 0 to 1,
• q is from 0 to 6,
• R2, and R4 are each independently selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and hydrocarbon,
• k≤q(j−1)+2p, and
• Ak− is a suitable charge balancing anion or anions such that the total charge, k, of the charge-balancing anion or anions is equal to and opposite from the net charge on the compound;
• (c) compounds having the formula (iii):
• wherein for formula (iii):
• l and m are each independently from 1 to 6,
• j is from 1 to 2,
• i is from 1 to 2,
• q is from 0 to 6,
• R2, R3, and R4 are each independently selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and hydrocarbon,
• k≤q(j−1)+(i−1), and
• Ak− is a suitable charge balancing anion or anions such that the total charge, k, of the charge-balancing anion or anions is equal to and opposite from the net charge on the compound;
• and
• (d) compounds having the formula (iv):
• wherein for formula (iv):
• l and m are each independently from 1 to 6,
• j is from 1 to 2,
• q is from 0 to 6,
• R2 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and hydrocarbon,
• k≤q(j−1), and
• Ak− is a suitable charge balancing anion or anions such that the total charge, k, of the charge-balancing anion or anions is equal to and opposite from the net charge on the compound.
