Abstract
A printing apparatus for shortening the time required to read documents having a plurality of pages, while preventing the occurrence of an overflow in a storage unit.
Claims13
A printing apparatus comprising:
- a reader configured to read an image;
- a volatile first memory configured to store image data obtained by reading the image by the reader;
- a nonvolatile second memory configured to store compressed image data obtained by compressing the image data read from the first memory;
- a printer configured to execute printing based on image data obtained by decompressing the compressed image data storing of which in the second memory from the first memory has completed;
- and
- at least one processor configured to function as:
- an acquisition unit configured to acquire, from the first memory, the image data storing of which in the second memory from the first memory has not yet been completed;
- and
- a print control unit configured to cause the printer to execute the printing based on the image data acquired by the acquisition unit.
A printing apparatus comprising:
- a reader configured to read an image;
- a volatile first memory configured to store image data obtained by reading the image by the reader;
- a nonvolatile second memory configured to store compressed image data obtained by compressing the image data read from the first memory;
- a printer configured to execute printing based on image data obtained by decompressing the compressed image data read from the second memory;
- and
- at least one processor configured to function as:
- an acquisition unit configured to acquire the compressed image data from the second memory in a case where storing of the image data in the second memory from the first memory has completed, and acquire the image data from the first memory in a case where storing of the image data in the second memory from the first memory has not completed;
- and
- a print control unit configured to cause the printer to execute the printing based on the image data acquired by the acquisition unit.
A method for controlling a printing apparatus including a reader configured to read an image, a volatile first memory configured to store image data obtained by reading the image by the reader, a nonvolatile second memory configured to store compressed image data obtained by compressing the image data read from the first memory, and a printer configured to execute printing based on image data obtained by acquiring, from the second memory, the compressed image data storing of which in the second memory from the first memory has completed and decompressing the acquired compressed image data, the method comprising:
- acquiring, from the first memory, the image data storing of which in the second memory from the first memory has not completed;
- and
- causing the printer to execute printing based on the image data acquired by the acquiring.
