Discrete packaging adapter for connector

An adapter comprising:

• a housing defining an interior space;
• a first elongated contact member fixed to the housing and including:
• a first end configured to mate with a first contact of a first electronic component;
• a second end configured to mate with a first contact of a second electronic component;
• and
• a curved section located between the first end and the second end such that the first end and the second end are parallel to each other and offset by the curved portion;
• and
• a second elongated contact member fixed to the housing and including:
• a first end configured to mate with a second contact of the first electronic component;
• a second end configured to mate with a second contact of the second electronic component, wherein the second end of the first elongated contact member and the second end of the second elongated contact member are co-linear, aligned with each other, and separated from each other by a gap;
• and
• a curved section located between the first end and the second end such that the first end and the second end are substantially parallel to each other and offset by the curved portion.

An adapter for use with a signal conductor having a first conductor segment and a second conductor segment separated from the first conductor segment to form a gap therebetween, said adapter comprising:

• a housing defining an interior space;
• a first contact member having a first end with a first contact surface, a second end with a second contact surface, and a curved section located at least partially within the interior space of the housing and between the first end and the second end such that the first end and the second end are parallel to each other and offset by the curved portion;
• a second contact member having a first end with a first contact surface, a second end having a second contact surface, and a curved section located at least partially within the interior space of the housing and between the first end and the second end such that the first end and the second end are parallel to each other and offset by the curved portion;
• a circuit element located within the interior space of said housing;
• wherein the first end of said first and second contact members are connected with the circuit element;
• and
• wherein the second end of said first and second contact members extend outside the housing and connect with the first conductor segment and the second conductor segment, respectively.

An adapter comprising:

• a housing defining an interior space;
• a first elongated contact member fixed to the housing and including a first end configured to mate with a first contact of a first conductor segment, and a second end configured to mate with a first contact of an electronic component;
• and
• a second elongated contact member fixed to the housing and including a first end configured to mate with a second contact of the a second conductor segment, and a second end configured to mate with a second contact of the electronic component, wherein the second end of the first elongated contact member and the second end of the second elongated contact member are co-linear, aligned with each other, and separated from each other by a gap.
