A user equipment (UE) apparatus that is configured to communicate with a base station apparatus using a serving cell, the UE apparatus comprising:

• reception circuitry that receives a higher layer signalling;
• and
• control channel processing circuitry monitors an physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) on the serving cell;
• wherein
• the higher layer signaling includes at least an information element;
• the information element specifying a PDCCH configuration for the serving cell;
• the PDCCH configuration include a frequency domain resource information indicating frequency domain resources for the PDCCH and a monitoring periodicity information indicating a time domain PDCCH monitoring periodicity.

A base station apparatus that is configured to communicate with a user equipment (UE) apparatus using a serving cell, the base station apparatus comprising:

• transmitting circuitry that transmits a higher layer signalling and an physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) on the serving cell;
• wherein
• the higher layer signaling includes at least an information element;
• the information element specifying a PDCCH configuration for the serving cell;
• the PDCCH configuration include a frequency domain resource information indicating frequency domain resources for the PDCCH and a monitoring periodicity information indicating a time domain PDCCH monitoring periodicity.

A method by user equipment (UE) apparatus configured to communicate with a base station apparatus using a serving cell, the method comprising:

• receiving a higher layer signalling;
• and
• monitoring an physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) on the serving cell;

• the information element specifying a PDCCH configuration for the serving cell;
• the PDCCH configuration include a frequency domain resource information indicating frequency domain resources for the PDCCH and a monitoring periodicity information indicating a time domain PDCCH monitoring periodicity.
