Handing over a user device from one technology to another

A system, comprising:

• a memory device storing a set of processor-executable instructions;
• and
• one or more processors configured to execute the set of processor-executable instructions, wherein executing the set of processor-executable instructions causes the one or more processors to:
• identify that a user device is connected to a first radio access network (“RAN”), via a first technology;
• identify that the user device is capable of accessing a second RAN, via a second technology,
• the second RAN being different from the first RAN,
• the second technology being different from the first technology;
• and
• instruct the user device to:
• concurrently connect to the first RAN and the second RAN,
• send or receive a first type of traffic via the first RAN while concurrently connected to the first RAN and the second RAN, and
• send or receive a second type of traffic via the second RAN while concurrently connected to the first RAN and the second RAN,
• the second type of traffic being different than the first type of traffic.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing a set of processor-executable instructions, which, when executed by one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to:

• identify that a user device is connected to a first radio access network (“RAN”), via a first technology;
• identify that the user device is capable of accessing a second RAN, via a second technology,
• the second RAN being different from the first RAN,
• the second technology being different from the first technology;
• and
• instruct the user device to:
• concurrently connect to the first RAN and the second RAN,
• send or receive a first type of traffic via the first RAN while concurrently connected to the first RAN and the second RAN, and
• send or receive a second type of traffic via the second RAN while concurrently connected to the first RAN and the second RAN, the second type of traffic being different than the first type of traffic.
