Method and apparatus for beam association between downlink/uplink

A terminal comprising:

• a transceiver configured to transmit and receive signals;
• and
• at least one processor configured to:
• receive first information indicating a type of resource related to uplink (UL) transmission and second information indicating a resource of the type of resource from a base station,
• select a beam for the UL transmission based on the first information and the second information, and
• transmit an UL signal based on the selected beam.

A method for a base station, the method comprising:

• transmitting first information indicating a type of resource related to uplink (UL) transmission and second information indicating a resource of the type of resource to a terminal;
• selecting a beam for UL reception based on the first information and the second information;
• and
• receiving an UL signal from the terminal based on the selected beam.

A base station, comprising:

• a transceiver configured to transmit and receive signals;
• and
• at least one processor configured to:
• transmit first information indicating a type of resource related to uplink (UL) transmission and second information indicating a resource of the type of resource to a terminal,
• select a beam for UL reception based on the first information and the second information, and
• receive an UL signal from the terminal based on the selected beam.
